一、課程簡介:
本課程闡述昆蟲在森林生態系之功能角色及多樣性，並介紹為害健全木、砍伐木及木材製品之害蟲種類、生活習性及防治方法。實習著重在森林重要害蟲及其為害狀之認識。本課程內容以Roger Dajoz的書為主，綱要如下：

3. The role of biotic factors
4. Diversity and abundance of insects in forest
5. Insects and the forest ecosystem
6. Forest insect pests
7. Canopy insects
8. Defoliating Lepidoptera

10. Other defoliators: sawflies, beetles, flies
11. Sap-suckers: scale insects, aphids and bugs
12. Galls and gall insects
13. Insects on flowers, fruits and seeds
14. Wood and its use by xylophagous organisms
15. Bark beetles (Scolytidae) and their associated fauna
16. Saproxylic insects
17. Wood decay and insects successions
18. Two special habitats: tree holes and fungi
19. Insects of forest soils
20. North American forest insects
21. Tropical rain forest insects
Conclusion

**本課程共3學分，演講2學分（上課2小時），實習1學分（上課3小時）。實習課程配合講演進度及內容，認識重要森林昆蟲之種類及其防治方法。
